BentSpoke Cannery: A Rare, Behind-the-Scenes Tour
Step inside BentSpoke’s Cannery for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at one of Australia’s leading craft breweries—personally led by Co-Founder and Head Brewer Rich Watkins, who brings more than 30 years of brewing expertise to the floor. This guided walk-through traces the full journey from grain to can, offering a clear, first-hand view of the equipment, the process and the people behind the beer.
Guests move through the heart of production, including the 10,000-litre fermentation tanks, a four-vessel brewhouse, the 40-tonne grain silo, a state-of-the-art dealcoholiser, and the powerful Centrofuse used for clarification. The tour culminates at the high-speed canning line, capable of packaging up to 5,000 litres per hour—one of only two beer packing lines of its kind in Australia. In a highlight for visitors, you’ll taste a beer fresh off the line, at its peak.
The experience is designed for clarity and safety from the outset. After a welcome and safety briefing, the tour flows through a fresh-can tasting, a focused cannery talk, and a practical brewing guide and walk-through on the production floor. Each session allows time for questions and answers, before a concise wrap-up to close. The format keeps the pace brisk while ensuring there’s room to dig into the details that matter.
