RAAus Brings Aviation Action to the Central West
The skies over Parkes will come alive on the last weekend of March as aviators, families, and aviation enthusiasts gather for one of the most anticipated RAAus events of the year. With a packed program of flying displays, hands-on workshops, industry exhibitors, and community connection, Fly’n For Fun promises something for everyone. From seasoned pilots to young aspiring aviators taking their very first steps into the world of flight.
A Milestone Moment: All-Female BushCat Build & Test Flight

A true highlight of the weekend will be the unveiling and test flight of a BushCat aircraft built entirely by an all-female team the week leading up to the event.
This inspiring project showcases the skill, dedication, and growing presence of women in aviation, particularly in aircraft construction and technical disciplines. Seeing the aircraft take to the skies for its test flight on Saturday will be a powerful and memorable moment for all in attendance.
It’s more than just a flight, it’s a celebration of opportunity, capability, and the future of aviation.
Exhibitors & Industry Supporters
Many of RAAus’ valued supporters and aviation businesses will be exhibiting throughout the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Explore the latest aviation products and services
- Speak directly with industry experts
- Discover training pathways, aircraft options, and new technology
- Connect with like-minded aviation enthusiasts
It’s a fantastic opportunity to support the organisations that help keep recreational aviation strong and thriving across Australia.
Specialist Speakers in the Seminar Marquee
Throughout the day, the Seminar Marquee will host a series of specialist speakers covering a wide range of aviation topics. From safety and aircraft maintenance to flight training and industry insights, there will be valuable information for pilots at every stage of their journey. Whether you’re building hours, building aircraft, or simply building knowledge, there will be something to take away.
STEM Inspiration with Cran Middlecoat

Renowned aviation educator Cran Middlecoat will be on site delivering his engaging and hands-on STEM workshops for young aspiring aviators. These sessions are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and introduce young people to the science and engineering behind flight in a fun and accessible way. For families attending the event, this is an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation of pilots, engineers, and aviation innovators.
Jabiru Film Nights – Friday & Saturday

As the sun sets, the aviation community will gather again for Jabiru’s film nights on both Friday and Saturday evenings. These relaxed evening sessions are the perfect way to wind down after a full day of flying and activities, bringing everyone together to share stories, laughter, and a love of aviation under the Parkes sky.
Meet the RAAus Team
The RAAus team will be available throughout the weekend to answer member questions, provide advice, and connect with the community. Whether you’re seeking guidance, exploring membership pathways, or simply want to catch up, the team are looking forward to it.
