Meet Aviator Ash, Recreational Aviation Australia’s First Youth Ambassador!

Ashton’s passion for aviation took off at an early age. From tracking flights on Flightradar24 to listening intently to air traffic control, he’s always had his head in the clouds—figuratively, at least! In his downtime, you’ll find him honing his skills on a flight simulator or strategically shaping his school studies to align with his lofty aviation aspirations.

In August 2023, Ashton’s journey truly took flight when he received a Trial Instructional Flight as a birthday gift. From that moment on, there was no turning back. Inspired by his own experiences, Ashton launched a YouTube channel to document his aviation journey and motivate others to pursue their dreams.

Ashton has now flown his first solo, and was gifted perfect flying conditions, with calm skies and not a breath of wind in sight.

Reflecting on the milestone, Ash shared:

“My first solo, what an amazing experience it was! Leading up to this moment here, I’d always had someone by my side. But right here, I had the realisation that, well, I’m all by myself! And what an amazing but weird feeling this is! Now, I will say that this hasn’t come without its own challenges and a lot of hard work and dedication, but this feeling of flying solo all by myself has made it all worth it!”
