Celebrating 40 Years

From our beginnings as the Australian Ultralight Federation in 1983 to Recreational Aviation Australia in the present day, we are the country’s largest sport aviation administrator of pilots, maintainers and aircraft. At any one time we enable more than 10,000 Australians to actively participate in accessible, simple, and fun aviation.

RAAus celebrated our momentous 40 year milestone at the magnificent Aircraft Hall at the Australian War Memorial on Saturday 9 September 2023. The night was filled with inspiring speeches, scholarship awards, delicious food, and networking opportunities. It was a great testament to the members of RAAus and to those that have made this past 40 years a success.

The RAAus team would like to thank all those who attended and extend our gratitude to our sponsors – the enthusiasm for recreational aviation on the night was truly evident! Here’s to the next 40 years of inspiring and connecting people through aviation!
